How you can help
Karibu is run entirely by volunteers, with no staff and no office. There are several ways you can be part of it.
Become a founding supporter
Monthly gifts are the foundation of everything we do, because they allow us to commit to a scholar for three full years. Fifty supporters giving £20 a month will fund one full scholarship every year.
We are currently opening our bank account and hope to start accepting donations before the end of 2026. Sign up below and we will let you know as soon as donations open.
One-off gifts are also very welcome. £100 pays for a scholar’s uniforms and kitchen kit, and £840 covers their food for a full year. See where your money goes.
Attend a fundraising dinner
We are planning our first fundraising dinner in London in 2027, bringing together people from across the hospitality industry.
Take on a challenge
Run a half marathon, complete a Hyrox or set your own challenge, and ask friends and colleagues to sponsor you. Get in touch and we will help you set it up.
Become a mentor
If you work in hospitality, we would value your support. Mentoring usually involves a video call once a month, and you do not need to be based in East Africa.
Spread the word
Please share Karibu with friends and colleagues, especially those working in hospitality. The more people who know about us, the sooner we can fund our first scholar.
