Privacy policy

This page explains what personal information the Karibu Hospitality Foundation collects through this website, why, and what we do with it. Last updated October 2026.

Who we are

The Karibu Hospitality Foundation is a new UK charity, currently being set up. You can contact us about anything on this page at martijn@karibufoundation.com.

What we collect and why

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can reply to you.
  • Email updates: your email address, so we can send you news about the foundation and our scholars, and let you know when donations open. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • Website statistics: our website host, WordPress.com, records basic information about visits, such as pages viewed, to help us understand how the site is used.
  • Fonts: the font on this site is loaded from jsDelivr, a content delivery network, which receives your IP address so it can send the font file to your browser.

We rely on your consent for email updates, and on our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us. We never sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who processes your information

This website, its contact form and our email updates are run on WordPress.com, provided by Automattic, which processes this information on our behalf under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep messages for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and no longer than two years. We keep your email address for updates until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Just email us. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
